About Rope Access Cape Town

5-Star Reviewed
Home About

Rope Access Cape Town connects property owners, managing agents, body corporates, facilities managers and industrial businesses with independent rope access contractors working in and around Cape Town.

It is a free quote service, not a contractor. The work at height is carried out by the companies that quote you.

Why It Exists

Rope access is a small and specialised market, and prices for the same job vary widely between contractors because they assume different methods, different repair quantities and different inclusions. Getting several comparable quotes is difficult if you are phoning contractors one at a time and describing the building differently each time.

One description, sent once, produces quotes that can actually be compared against each other.

How It Works

  1. You describe the building or structure, the height and the work required.
  2. The request goes to LEADERR APPROVED rope access contractors covering your area.
  3. Up to five come back to you directly with their own rates, method and programme.
  4. You compare them and appoint whoever you prefer, or nobody.

What We Do Not Do

  • We do not carry out rope access work, employ technicians or hold rope access certification.
  • We do not hold IRATA, SPRAT or any training accreditation. Those belong to the individual contractors and training providers.
  • We do not take a margin on the work you appoint. The price you agree is between you and the contractor.
  • We do not recommend one contractor over another. You compare the quotes yourself.

Checking a Contractor

Whichever quotes you receive, a few checks are worth doing before appointing:

  • Certification of the technicians attending, not the company's general claim. Names and expiry dates, with a Level 3 confirmed on site.
  • Public liability cover at a level that would meet a realistic claim, and COIDA registration.
  • References on comparable work, particularly for anything structural or industrial.
  • Method statement and risk assessment before work starts, not after.
  • Who signs any report, where an inspection or structural opinion is involved.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a rope access company?

No. Rope Access Cape Town is a quote-matching service. The work at height is carried out by independent contractors who quote you directly and carry their own technicians, certification, equipment and insurance.

What does it cost to use?

Nothing. Requesting quotes is free and there is no obligation to appoint anyone.

How are contractors selected?

Contractors are LEADERR APPROVED, meaning they have been through a vetting process before being listed. You should still check certification, insurance and references yourself before appointing anyone.

Who do I contract with?

The contractor you appoint, directly. This website is not a party to that contract and does not take a margin on the work.
